Green Tours and Events

The participants of ’Nordic Geographers Meeting’ on a climate friendly walk in the area around ’Trekroner’ 2011

“All participants were very happy with the tours and felt that they learnt a lot, seen something interesting and discussed everything, they were happy and their only regret was the fact that more people were not on the tour. Regarding our collaboration everything worked perfectly and all together everything was very good”.

Anite Kjølbæk, Coordinator Nordic Geographic Meeting 2011, Roskilde University.

Vellinge County and ‘Ældresagen’ from Dragør experiencing Roskilde 2011

“I would like to express our great satisfaction with the experience, everything went without a hitch, from the visit to ‘Vikingeskibs museet’ in Roskilde tot he lunch on board the ship ‘Sagafjord’. Continuing from the ship we went to see Roskilde Cathedral where the 110 happy participants went on a very interesting guided tour of the cathedral. This will not be the last time we use Green InSight for our events” Benny Gyngsø, Coordinator

International Student tour, UC Davis

Thank you so much for the receipt and again for the marvelous tour, food, hospitality and day with our students. It was one of the highlights of our trip. We look forward to visit you again next year.

Study trip during the ’Sunrise’ conference at RUC April 2010

To me the eco trip was a good opportunity to grasp what a sustainable lifestyle can mean. The mix between visiting research facilities on renewables on the one hand and getting an insight in “eco-living” on the other was fruitful because I could get an idea of the technological/economical possibilities but also obstacles to sustainability, and on the other hand the eco-village was inspiring with regard to the challenges for practising it in society.

The tour was very good to gain an insight on what sustainability can mean – on the technological level, the social level, and the economic/business level. I apperciated this mix very much.

The climate express

We had some great and informative tours. Each tour had unique experiences to offer. We got new ways of understanding green procucts and our students found it really interesting.

RUC – Personnel trip focusing on Health in sustainable building and ecological food May 09

“On a cold spring morning we participated in a tour with excellent guides where we visited ecological farms and sustainable buildings in Stenløse. After the tour of ‘Søris’ we had our lunch which we had brought from home. In addition to that different types of ecological foods and drinks were available. The day was well planned and everyone felt that they had been on a trip which was filled with great experiences and joy as well as inspiration for life in general, even if it was windy”.

Development Projects that vi har været eller er beskæftiget med

The educational environmental experience 2007-2010

The purpose of the project is to develop theme based tourist destinations in Region Sjælland by focusing on selection, visibility, readying places for visits, branding, and logistic planning a pristine series of environmental initiatives of the region. This includes places of interest such as sustainable energy systems, environmental-friendly buildings and production, local green areas, ecological producers and more. The goal is an increase in quality tourism, which creates a profit for the tourism industry as well as for environmental attractions and which will generate a positive understanding of Danish environmental initiatives.

The project won ‘Turismens Fællesråds Initiativpris’ (Tourism award) in 2008 and also became the beginning of Green InSight.

You can read more about the project and the many places you can visit at Miljooplevelser.dk and østdansk hjemmeside.

Ecology in public schools 2010-2011

Many families focus on ecology and health. Green InSigh started this project because we believe it is important to increase the focus on ecology. It is about how to get the ecological players to talk to each other and to get public school pupils and kindergarden pupils out and experience how ecology affects them personally.

We have had 500 pupils from the Trekoner school out experiencing ecology through endorsements and good donations possibilities. It is our vision to start up more projects like this one so that more children will gain a better understanding of what ecology is all about. We are currently in the middle of a collaboration with local stores and ‘Økologiske Landsforening’ (the Ecological Society) which we hope will turn into a concrete project. If you know anything about interesting partners or green funds we would very much like to hear from you.

Ecology – transparancy ’from the earth to the table’

The purpose of the project is to establish ways to make the process for ecological products in the journey from the earth to the table more visible. This is accomplished through experience based initiatives.

The vision of the project is to raise the awareness of ecological products. This is achieved by collecting the experiences of businesses and organisations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The companies use innovative ways to create transparency for the consumer in the processes that take place from the earth to the table. Drawing on these experiences the project tries to define usable off-the-shelf goods for companies here in Denmark which will make the production of goods more transparent and focused on experiences. Partly the project will help the producers gain an increased value for their goods by adding an experience based approach and raise awareness about ecology which may lead to a greater demand for ecology. The project may possibly lead to a greater application with the focus on Denmark as an ecological experience area.

If you know any interesting companies or food syndicates who work in the same area we would like to hear from you.
